March Happened

Well, our brutal polar-vortex winter continued in March.  Usually in March there are signs that the end of winter is near.  Not this time.  Winter has been hanging on like it's never going away.  I will say that the Wasatch Front finally got some snow.  We got snow, but not as much as we've been getting.  That's about the only good thing I can say about March.

The girls had a couple of days off of school, so we headed to St George.  The place that's saved our sanity this winter.  We did some mountain biking and enjoyed just sitting on the grass in the sun.  One afternoon we had a couple of hours of perfection sitting by the pool.  It was glorious.

A couple of days after getting home we turned back around to St George again because Zack was going with his roommates.  I have to admit that I loved every second of being around all of the college kids.  It's hard to send your kid to school and you don't know anyone they're hanging out with.  So getting a glimpse into his life at school was really great.  I made a couple of dinners for them (sloppy joes and hot dogs) and they acted like I was a gourmet chef.  I learned that college kids are really fun to cook for because they're desperate for anything home-cooked and free.  They were a great group of kids and we had a lot of fun getting to know them.

Examples of the huge piles of snow.  This is a sidewalk.

Jake's dreams came true when we stopped at a Jeep thing and he got to see his Youtube idols.

We went on a Jeep ride with friends and introduced them to the glitter mine.

Zack and roommates soaking up the sun.

They were especially excited about the Costco tortilla chips and the tub of salsa I got.  It's the little things when you're in college.

All of Zack's roommates plus a couple of girls from next door.  Such a fun weekend!
